It’s a serious question that I have not heard anyone asking. Daily briefings, death counts, more restrictions, more misinformation, no debate, and a flailing economy waiting on trillions from a disconnected representative government trying to save it by subsidizing it. I’m one of the lucky ones I guess? My job at this time has been deemed essential. I’m still working.While driving around, I see less traffic than I normally see, and it is surreal. It begs the question: Is this reaction by government sustainable? You have a large portion of the public not doing just that, working. Hundreds of thousands of people in every state not working. Unemployment roles are now over 600,000 in my state alone. We are at a point of making some hard choices. Do we get back to work or just surrender to this?

Yet, for two months, doctors such as Anthony Fauci have messed up millions of lives and commandeered trillions of dollars while scaring the hell out of people and watching curves based on projections based on meaningless numbers. Watching the several curves resulting from the testing that is now ongoing and that is projected to continue as the country suffers will provide only more guesses, that will feed more models and more disputes. The most important fact about COVID-19, its true mortality rate, is the number who die of the virus divided by the number infected by it. No algorithms. Simple arithmetic.”

Business as we know it, is probably never going to be the same again. I can’t believe that the amount of money that is being lost on a daily basis, can or will ever be recovered. We can’t spend our way out of it printing money we don’t have. If you don’t have a plan 3,6, even 9 months from now, you could be worse off. What businesses can sustain this storm? Most of us are employed by small business owners. There could be less of them when this is over. Who’s to say those jobs will be waiting for you when it is over? What will we do?
Remote business may take off after this. It’s become an emergency option that is now becoming a normal thing for a lot of big and small business. Big Box stores are converting over to a digital showroom. That trend was happening on its own, but this pandemic has brought it on even quicker. Even in businesses that would’ve never though they had anything to offer in a digital landscape are evolving.
Then the age old trade of time for money. We all do it. Now a lot of us have no job to trade our time for money. We will get through this, but you need to figure out exactly where you want to be when it is over. What will be different? Evolve. Change. Fear has almost always brought out success.
